Reporting to the Executive Vice President of Sales, Marketing & Revenue Management, the primary responsibility of this position is analysis of revenue maximization efforts for cluster of Marshall Hotels & Resorts. Maintenance of MHR Revenue Management standards in concert with brand requirements through property visitation, specific auditing and measurement of hotel revenue performance against established goals and forecasts. Recommend and coordinate pricing and positioning for hotels. Supply critical analysis on assigned portfolio effecting pricing, occupancy, revenue goals and yielding strategies. Regular updates and solicitation of feedback to from all VP Ops/General Managers, Regional Directors of Sales and Marketing will be core of the Revenue Management communication of strategies.

Responsibilities include:

  • Conduct weekly consultations with hotels and assist in implementing and analyzing strategy changes.
  • Proactively identifying trends and changes in the market.
  • Optimize market segments in conjunction with sales departments to maximize revenues
  • Communicate strategy changes with executive team
  • Review historical information and reports to optimize previous sell strategies

Job Requirements

  • Proficient in MS Office programs, especially MS Excel
  • Knowledge of GDS, CRS, Brand.com interactions
  • Excellent oral/written communication skills to all staff levels, and a strong attention to detail
  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to prepare and analyze data figures and transcriptions prepared on and generated by computer.
  • Knowledge of computer accounting programs, math skills as well as budgetary analysis capabilities required.
  • Strong administrative skills, to include business writing, mathematics for basic accounting and knowledge of Microsoft Office programs.
  • Prefer multiple brand management experience
  • Multi-property experience is preferred
  • Must have strong forecasting skills
  • Persuasive communication and training skills required

We are currently seeking a highly motivated and experienced hospitality professional to join our team as a General Manager at the The Bee-an urban boutique hotel in Danville, VA. who can help lead the property to sustainable success.

This historic hotel is at the forefront of revitalizing downtown Danville. Our newly redeveloped fully furnished 47 room boutique hotel, located in the Danville, VA, is seeking an enthusiastic and outgoing full-time General Manager, who works independently, but under the overall direction of our Management Company. This unique position works from the onsite office and is the first in-person contact, greeting our guests and providing assistance during their stay, while also taking calls to answer questions about reservations and encourage future bookings. You will be responsible for supervising the cleaning of each room and inspection to ensure it is prepared for the next guest arriving. Supervision of the housekeeping team and front office staff will fall to this position. The position is mainly Monday through Friday with some additional special event weekends.

Job Description

Ideal candidates must be computer literate and have experience with basic bookkeeping tasks. Flexibility to cover when off regular hours as the “on call” contact. Outside sales of this historic property are also required and will be outlined in the interview process. This position requires a hands-on approach.

  • Interact with the management company on a weekly/monthly basis.
  • Be knowledgeable of all emergency procedures and policies.
  • Report any guest/associate injuries and accidents.
  • Ensure company policies and security requirements are met.
  • Follow company uniform and grooming standards.

Job Description:

  • Interview, hire, train, and manage engineering team to successfully achieve the objectives of the Engineering Department.
  • Troubleshoot and repair malfunctions in mechanical or electrical systems (e.g., HVAC, plumbing, etc.) and other equipment throughout the hotel.
  • Ensure the performance of preventative maintenance assignments on a scheduled basis.

 Abilities Required:

5 Years of experience as a Chief Engineer at a similarly sized property is required.

  • Must have the ability to communicate in English. Must always maintain a professional appearance and manner. Must communicate well with guests.
  • Must be willing to “pitch-in” and help co- workers with their job duties and be a team player.
  • Must be able to recognize potential safety hazards and security problems in the hotel and act upon each accordingly.
  • Must be skilled in several areas such as HVAC, electrical, carpentry, dry walling, painting, plumbing, roofing, and landscaping.
  • Must be able to troubleshoot and repair routine mechanical and electrical malfunctions in hotel systems and equipment. Must be willing and able to be responsive to complaints about maintenance.
  • Must be able to use your extensive knowledge and talent for team management to ensure operations are smooth and facilities fully functioning for optimal guest experience; ensure equipment is well maintained and maintenance contracts are expertly negotiated and valid; and, conduct inspections and drills.
  • Must be able to lead a motivated team of maintenance techs by modeling the way, by empowering, and coaching throughout the employment lifecycle. Must be able to create an environment that is engaging, where motivated people want to join, learn, do their best, and advance.
