Marshall Hotels & Resorts is seeking a proven Sales Manager candidate who has experience working in a full or limited service hotel.  Working with customers that are in the Corporate, Group, Leisure, Sports, Tour and Travel and Leisure market segments.  The hotels are the new Hampton Inn & Suites, and the Wyndham Garden Inn located in Marietta GA. Primary Responsibilities – Sales Manager

  • Effective in capturing sources that will capture new accounts and clients.
  • Continue relationships with current clients and identify new and additional business from a result of the relationship.
  • The ability to actively sell using a “grass root” sales mentality.
  • Consistent use of internet prospecting to identify and close new business.
  • Attend Brand and Marshall Hotel sales training courses.  Keep current on tools and resources available to assist in sales
  • Work with Regional Sales Director and General Manager to achieve required sales goals. Position reports to the General Manager.
  • Understand current market knowledge of hotel rates, pricing strategies and brand promotions.
  • Respond promptly to all Sales inquiries, RFP’s and other leads sources accurately, timely and in a professional manner.
  • Be active in achieving outside sales call goals weekly
  • Provide Regional Sales Director and General Manager a weekly recap of sales activities
  • Prepare customer correspondence, reports as requested and necessary forms i.e. contracts, as well as prepare proposals.
  • Other duties as determined by hotel management.
  • Always represent the hotel at industry events in a professional and courteous manner.

A minimum of 2-3 years’ experience in a Sr. Sales Manager, Sales Manager or Director of Sales in a limited service or full-service hotel is Required.
  • Must live in the area, this position does not offer relocation.
  • Knowledge of hospitality industry and sales processes.
  • Ability to read and understand financial reports weekly and monthly
  • Long Distance travel will be required as needed. Local travel weekly required.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • The ability to lift to 30 pounds.
  • Ability to work as a Team Member with 2 hotel staffs in a respectful manner, always.
  • Ability to be strategic in setting goals to capture market share from the competitive set of hotels
  • Brand experience with Hilton, Marriott, Hyatt or IHG hotels is preferred
